Davao City

Davao City, the "King City of the South", reigns supreme in the southern Philippines island of Mindanao.

This sprawling metropolis holds the title of the largest Philippine city by area, with a whopping 2,443 square kilometers under its belt.

Despite its size, it thrives as the third-most populous city, boasting over 1.7 million residents. Nestled on the southeastern coast of Mindanao, Davao City faces the Davao Gulf, with majestic Mount Apo, the highest peak in the Philippines, gracing the skyline.

The Davao River snakes through the city, adding to its verdant charm. Davao City is a center of commerce and industry, but also an agricultural powerhouse, particularly famous for durian, a fruit with a distinctive pungent odor that belies its creamy, delicious flesh.

This has earned Davao City the nickname "Durian Capital of the Philippines".
